It's strange: When they connect to Windows, I see two new devices listed: I'm in the same boat: Headphones work great with anything but my Windows PC, which has a good chance I have to fidget with things to get them to work, if at all. Personally, I would really like to make it work well with $300 motherboard I bought thinking that I wouldn't need to rely on these external BT dongles, but alas!

I know these solutions feel like bandaids, though they might be what we have to do here :)

So I'm going to try and use that.Īlso, you can purchase one of these dongles as well - this way you are going around Windows 10 drivers altogether:

I also have an external bluetooth dongle (ZEXMTE) that this headset used to work correctly with. I have to manually remove headset and pair it again.

This is a total disappointment for me as one of the reasons for me to buy XM4 was to watch my Netflix series on my PC from my couch as I have lower back pain which prevents me to sit long hours on my desk.

I have been trying almost everything I can think of for hours and it still stutters. I also disconnected XM4 from my phone so that it can only interact with my PC and still stuttering. Then I completely turned off my Wi-fi and it still kept stuttering. I have tried it after turning off the 2.4 GHz band to no avail. However, the sound stutters when I play anything from my PC. It also pairs and connects flawlessly to my PC (Win 10 desktop) equipped with an Asus USB-BT400 dongle.

It works great on my Android phone with every single function. Were you able to find any solid solution to this problem? The new one is just a generic 5.0 one off of Amazon, works perfectly. I replaced my bluetooth usb adapter, the old one was an Insignia branded one I got from Best Buy a few years ago. Interesting stuff, but it brings me no closer to a solution.ĮDIT: Just wanted to post my solution. I've tried disabling the headset and then it goes back to stuttering. So it seems that just going back and forth makes it switch between the headphones and headset function. Even more interesting in sound settings if I'm on the playback page then I get the stuttering, but if I switch to the recording page then I get sound, but it's very low volume and tinny. Unfortunately the fix that is talked about doesn't seem possible as in the device properties I don't see a "services" tab where I can turn the headset off. Any possible solutions out there?Įdit: Playing around with these and reading through some other posts on the XM3's it seems that I can force Windows to default to the headset mode which is meant for phone calls, not the headphones mode and they actually work, but very tinny and low volume. I'm super bummed as I've been waiting for these for a couple of years now, holding off on buying the XM3's. Not sure if there is some trick to getting them to work. I also can't seem to get the touch gestures to work, they are enabled in the app. I've installed the Sony app and made sure to check that the connection should be the priority as suggested on Sony's site. It's really only apparent if the sound is low. Well almost, the left earphone has some sort of hiss which sounds like the noise cancellation is a touch too aggressive, but weirdly only on the left side.

I've also paired them with my Android phone and they work flawlessly. I did some troubleshooting and followed suggestions for the same issue on the XM3's but that didn't help. I've searched, but not much out there as these are new. I've paired the Sony's with the PC and when playing anything it just stutters in and out.

I'm having issues with these on a Windows 10 PC, I have a bluetooth 4.0 dongle which is updated with the Windows stock Broadcom driver and works perfectly with anything I throw at it, including a set of Samsung Level On headphones.
